 In TED Talk, Wael Ghonim comes and introduces us to the "five challenges facing today's social media" and to "liberate society". Social media has positive and negative impacts. Some positive impacts are: ability to express feelings, ability to obtain knowledge, ability to communicate from far away, ability to work easier, and the ability to browse through new trends. However, some negative impacts are that the social media may be dangerous, can be hacked to leak personal info, bad rumors, cyberbullying, and addiction.

In TED Talk, Wael Ghonim talks about "five critical challenges facing today's social media". The five critical challenges are: 1. Rumors are getting out of hand. We don't know how to deal with rumors. Rumors that confirm people's biases are now believed and spread among millions of people. 2. We block and just ignore people who we don't agree with. It seems now we are just making our own echo chambers. 3. Just because we are behind screens and no one can see who we are, people think it is okay to offend us. People think it is okay to not treat others like human-beings. 4. Now because of the speed and brevity of social media, we are forced to jump to conclusions and write sharp opinions about complex world affairs. However, once we do that it forever stays in the internet. 5. The internet is making us talk at each other instead of talking with each other. 

Wael Ghonim also talks about 4 ways, but I only have 2, how we can "liberate the internet". 1. If we want to liberate society, we first need to liberate the internet. 2. To create a new media platform for conversations. Wael says, "As a believer, I teamed up with a few friends, started a new project, trying to find answers and explore possibilities. Our first product is a new media platform for conversations. We're hosting converstions that promote mutual understanding and hopefully change minds."

Digital citizenship can be defined as the norms of appropriate, responsible behavior with regard to technology use. 1. Digital Access: full electronic participation in society. Technology users need to be aware that not everyone has the same opportunities when it comes to technology

One device I regularly use is my phone and i mostly use it to socialize with people. A nice advantage of having the internet is helping always staying up to date with the world. Also another advantage is being able to communicate with anyone on the planet and this makes it easier to keep and store information. One disadvantage is you start to become unsocial in terms of in person another is you might get addicted to the digital world.

I really didn't know anything before this but one thing I could improve on is my digital citizen ship , in terms of getting more connected with the internet. The only true way too do this is start being more active on the web ( like anything)

You use technology all the time, it helps with everything, is i didn't have technology i wouldn't be coming to school on time. Also I wouldn't know what would be happening, also with out technology I couldn't get any work done. In fact I am using a laptop right now to due this assignment. My goal in life is to become a police officer and how will I be up to date \ or stay in touch with my team with out technology.

If you can end any one problem in the world, what would it be?

I would end financial problems..
Everything in California is raising its price and its getting harder for everyone to live in a home with a roof. If the problem keeps continuing most people are going to have nothing to eat or have anywhere to live; just on the streets. Most of the rent bills, gas money, and food has raised their price. If most of the water and gas had came to California we wouldnt have gas and water trouble. This problem is important to me because I sometimes see my mom struggling to pay the bills and get gas for the car.

Some solutions to this are to get more resources from other states. Other states such as Texas or New Mexico has a lot of oil/gas so their gas price is way cheaper than ours. For water, if people can stop throwing trash and help keep the ocean clean, we could have clean water everywhere. For homes, (this might sound selfish but) I ,respectfully, wish people move to other places so that land wont be hard to buy.
